Our history
The hotel is housed in a building built in the late 1920s in neoclassical style. This was formerly the site of the Atlas factory, which made railway carriages, and the factory’s head office stood where the hotel is today. In 1927 the factory was demolished and the beautiful new residential area now known as the Atlas area took shape.
Anders Franzén, who discovered the royal warship Vasa in the 1950s, lived in the same building as the hotel. Between 1931 and 1941 the children’s author Astrid Lindgren lived on Vulcanusgatan, and according to her, Karlsson-on-the-Roof himself lived here in the neighbourhood.
There has been a hotel in the building since the 1940s. Wasa Park Hotel opened its doors in the 1980s.
Food and shopping
In the same building you will find the very popular “Portal Restaurant and Bar”.
There are also many nice restaurants and cafés around the corner, such as the “Apropos” bar and many others along Rörstrandsgatan and in Vasaparken opposite the hotel.
Shopping is within walking distance at Västermalmsgallerian or at Odenplan.

Car parking
P-Hus S:t Eriksplan (directly under the hotel). The entrance is at Torsgatan 31. Open every day 06:00–24:00 for a fee. Always paid in advance.
On-street parking is also available in marked areas behind the hotel, along Atlasgatan and nearby streets. The number of spaces is limited. Free between 19:00–07:00 on weekdays and 17:00–11:00 at weekends. Please pay attention to the parking signs.
Extra beds
An extra bed is available in some rooms at a cost of SEK 250 including breakfast. Please check with reception.
Luggage storage
You can store your luggage with us free of charge for one night; after that the cost is SEK 50 per day for up to 2 bags. Luggage storage is entirely subject to availability, so please contact us in advance if you need longer storage.

Breakfast
A basic breakfast buffet is served in the morning: coffee or tea, milk (also lactose-free), soured milk, juice, muesli and cornflakes. Freshly baked bread straight from the bakery, butter, cheese, ham or turkey, salami, biscuits and marmalade. Always fresh vegetables and fruit.
Gluten-free bread and other special diets are available on request. Please let us know when you book!
We have different breakfast times to avoid crowding. Please book your time at check-in.

Most frequently asked questions
Can I check in at 23:00?
If you arrive after 22:00, you will receive the gate code to enter the building and information on where to collect the key to your room.
Can I book a room with three single beds when we are 4 people, but one is 3 months old and sleeps in a pram?
Absolutely. Children under 6 without their own bed always stay free of charge. Please let us know in advance so that we can book a larger room with space for the pram.
Is there a hairdryer in every room?
There is a hairdryer in all rooms with a private bathroom. Guests staying in rooms with a shared bathroom can always borrow a hairdryer at reception.
Can I pay in cash at check-in?
We appreciate it if you pay by card. In some cases we can accept cash, but only in Swedish kronor.
Can we bring a dog?
Unfortunately, due to allergies we do not accept dogs.
Do you have vegetarian options for breakfast, such as oat milk?
We can offer oat milk, cereals, fruit and vegetables.
Does the room have a window?
All rooms have windows overlooking the square and Vasaparken or the quiet Völundsgatan. Welcome!
I arrive from Arlanda at around 00:30 – how does check-in work?
Please state your late arrival time as a request when booking, or let us know in another way. We will then send you information on what to do. Welcome!
Are there gluten-free options for breakfast?
We always have gluten-free bread at breakfast. If it is not on the table, please ask the breakfast staff. Let us know if you need a special diet and we will try to arrange it. Welcome!
Shared bathroom – how many others do you share with? Where are the rooms in relation to the bathrooms?
You share a bathroom with two or three other rooms. The shared bathroom is usually right next to each room.
We have booked a room with you and need to check out at four o’clock because of our flight.
Payment is always made in advance, so you only need to leave your room key at reception or in your room. Please inform the receptionist beforehand.
Is there free parking at the hotel?
Parking in the garage always costs extra and is paid to the car park. On-street parking, however, is free at night during set hours and on Sundays. Always check the signs for current regulations.
